Timber Towers. Inspired by the fantastic International Mass Timber Conference in Portland this week, we’re sharing a view of our work with Katerra developing a prototype student housing community using cross-laminated timber (CLT) technology to transform the way buildings are delivered and perceived. We’re actively studying this rapidly renewable structural material for different building typologies, and are excited by the prospects. Image: Plompmozes

The Mithun Home Team is currently developing an ecological infrastructure prototype design in parallel with the Resilient by Design Bay Area Challenge design phase. This prototype will test hybrid models of housing and ecology. Our aim is to enhance community engagement and excitement through a tangible built project, and to inform evidence-based design of resilient ecological infrastructure that restores habitat and responds to a changing bay shoreline. 📷: Hilary Noll

We recently renovated seven floors within an existing highrise to create open, connected workspaces with diverse settings for individual focus and team collaboration for Microsoft. Abundant daylight and views to the outside contribute to a biophilic setting for individual and group activities at the hub, an active gathering, dining and work space on each floor. 📷: @k7scott

It was fantastic to have @anniewrightschools Upper School for Boys in our Seattle office for a design crit about their work on a tiny house for the Nicklesville Georgetown Tiny House Village. We were impressed by the students’ creative utilization of limited space—working together through the design problem, building spaces in 3D and refining the design with clever detailing. We look forward to seeing the final product! 📷: Zhenru Zhang

Work hard, play hard! Since 2002, we’ve held biennial summer and winter games coinciding with the Olympics. The week-long celebration of teamwork, speed and ingenuity is a highlight of the season. Competition is fierce as athletes fight for the thrill of victory and top medal standing. This year’s events included the two-person skeleton race, biathlon, hockey and everyone’s favorite, the Barbie ski jump. 📷: @barronpeper
