Our team recently volunteered for Harvest Day at the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation's (TNDC) Tenderloin People’s Garden. Did you know that San Francisco’s Tenderloin District is one of the only neighborhoods in the city without a full-service grocery store, making access to fresh, affordable food a daily struggle for the many low-income residents? This incredible gardening program began in 2010 on a vacant lot near San Francisco City Hall, and has expanded to include four rooftop gardens and produce about 2,500 pounds of food annually. Opening in 2018, our affordable housing project with TNDC at 1036 Mission will add a new rooftop garden to the mix.
