Here's a sneak peek of the new @SeattleU Sinegal Center for Science and Innovation. We're thrilled to see it fill with life in preparation for fall classes! The project places STEM education at the threshold between the city and the university, and creates new opportunities for collaboration between biology, chemistry and computer science departments within an inviting, student-centered hub for gathering, hands-on exploration and discovery. We’re excited to share the beautiful mural installation that illuminates the north façade of Casa Adelante at 2060 Folsom, new all-electric affordable housing in the Mission District. The four-wall piece is muralistx Jessica Sabogal's dedication to Yolanda M. López, an American painter, printmaker, educator and film producer living in San Francisco who is known for works focusing on the experiences of Mexican-American women, often challenging the ethnic stereotypes associated with them. Check out @jessicasabogal to learn more about the powerful history and cultural references incorporated within this installation. The structure of @thebushschool Upper School building features sustainably harvested mass timber components to drive down embodied energy and global warming potential of the project. This wood frame design also contributes to the project’s #PassiveHouse (PHIUS) certification goals, and creates dynamic new campus spaces for learning and gathering. These innovative large format 2” thick mass plywood panels flew in rapidly, fit like a glove and helped save weeks off of the project schedule compared to traditional car decking installation.
