The Perot Family Offices at Turtle Creek is a great example of integrated design at work. Our interior design, architecture and landscape team worked in concert to craft compositions like this view of the boardroom door. Materials including limestone and wood contrast with bright natural light that draw your eye to unique moments throughout the project, indoors and out. Mithun R+D drives positive change by advancing design knowledge and its application. Different digital design programs have different functional strengths. How can we best connect these tools for powerful, nimble, real-time design while harnessing the iterative nature of AI? Façade Generator bridges the gap between Revit and other modeling programs, specifically Rhino and Grasshopper, to easily study façade patterns and articulation that are otherwise too cumbersome to implement or explore in Revit at early stages of a project. The conceptual drivers for design option exploration include environmental response, programmatic relationships, panelization, modularity and color. Mithun R+D drives positive change by advancing design knowledge and its application. The Scripted Anthropometry effort examined how the body can be embedded within contemporary design with emergent digital fabrication tools. Using computer scripting, 3D printing and five-axis CNC fabrication, the team researched how to effectively model complex anthropomorphic shapes and directly cast them into concrete forms, applying this research to design and fabricate a bench installation at Louisiana Children’s Museum. Mithun R+D drives positive change by advancing design knowledge and its application. On Fire examines fire-adapted environments, studying both the varied sociocultural history of fire management and the breadth of existing prescriptive best management practices for designers working within fire-prone environments. This team is developing a design toolkit through an integrated approach, considering land use, landscape design and building design simultaneously. We're happy to see that San Francisco is getting some much needed rain this week, but we'll still be thinking about these sunny views! Here, light washes through the windows of this historic building at Levi’s Plaza. Renovated in 2020, this meeting room is part of a flexible ground-floor program with a shared work lounge and hospitality kitchen to support creative workspaces on the upper level. 📷: Jasper Sanidad
