We are excited to support the Design with Nature Now conference starting TODAY at The Ian McHarg Center for Urbanism + Ecology! A core conference theme, Fresh Waters reminds us of our pollinator garden at 2060 Folsom in San Francisco’s Mission District, where field research for planting types, soil and water regimes led to our community engagement and development of a garden to attract native pollinators. The landscape design ties into the historic hydrology of Mission Creek and Laguna-Dolores Lake. Four days and counting! We are excited to support the Design With Nature Now Symposium at The McHarg Center. When we think about Rising Waters, we think of our partnership with Metro Parks Tacoma to create a long term vision for their waterfront in Washington State. This project addressed specific sea level rise issues while prioritizing community values and storytelling. Community outreach was intentionally wide and prioritized — Salishan Night Out, the Tacoma Urban League at First Creek Middle School, Bryant Middle School, the Tacoma Community Boat Builders, and the Tacoma Urban League Sisterhood in the City program. 📷: @metroparkstacoma

We unveiled the “SkyPark” design concept at the Uber Elevate Summit in Washington D.C. today. This Los Angeles design focuses on the greater community, incorporating transit connectivity, sustainable performance and neighborhood placemaking with an expansive public amenity at ground level. Uber recently invited a handful of leading design teams to advance their global vision for a multi-modal future unifying ground and air mobility. Unveiled at the Uber Elevate Summit in Washington D.C. today, our “SkyPark” design concept for Los Angeles focuses on the greater community, incorporating transit connectivity, sustainable performance and neighborhood placemaking with an expansive public amenity at ground level. The design leverages pre-fabricated parts to support eVTOL aircraft take off, landing and turntable parking as well as spaces for multi-modal transit users and more than two acres of community park.
