Flexibility for Changing Times
The Fairview Research Center is a seven-story life sciences facility located in Seattle’s dynamic South Lake Union neighborhood. The speculative building features a cast-in-place concrete structure designed for the most demanding research environmental requirements, and with flexibility to accommodate a single occupant or multiple tenants.
Mission Critical Operations
The Fairview Research Center provides tenants with building infrastructure – vibration criteria, floor loading, floor-to-floor height, and mechanical/electrical design – to maximize laboratory efficiency and adaptability, and meet environmental requirements for mission critical research and development. Robust systems and controls support a broad range of life science research activities including BSL-2 and 3 laboratories.
Pushing the Envelope
Sustainable features are incorporated throughout, including multiple green strategies to address stormwater runoff and reduce energy demand. Natural daylight is maximized through a full-height window wall and heat loads are minimized with an exterior shading louver system.
