Mithun president David Goldberg has been elevated to the American Institute of Architects (AIA) College of Fellows. AIA Fellowship honors architects who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession and made a significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level. Among the AIA’s 95,000 members, approximately three percent are recognized as fellows.
Dave has been instrumental in helping grow Mithun’s mission-driven practice to national prominence. He has served in virtually all areas of firm leadership, with a keen focus on integrated design and the role of designer as collaborator, listener, and leader.
Dave’s projects include the Islandwood environmental education center on Bainbridge Island, Chatham University’s Eden Hall Campus in Pittsburgh, and the Perot Family Offices in Dallas. He lectures nationally on integrated design and sustainability and has served in numerous volunteer leadership positions for notable conservation and education organizations including Woodland Park Zoo, Islandwood, and Earthshare of Washington. Dave is currently serving on the University of Washington Foundation Board, representing the College of Built Environments.
The 2020 Fellows will be honored at an investiture ceremony at the AIA Conference on Architecture in Los Angeles on May 15.
