Robert Frost Auditorium at Culver City High School has been recognized for excellence in historic preservation with two honors in 2020: a Los Angeles Conservancy Preservation Award, and a California Preservation Foundation Preservation Design Award for Rehabilitation.
Since 1982, the Los Angeles Conservancy has honored excellence in the field of historic preservation with their annual Preservation Awards. Submissions come from throughout Los Angeles County and illustrate the value and power of historic preservation. The Conservancy calls Robert Frost Auditorium “one of the most breathtaking Modern buildings ever designed.”
The California Preservation Foundation awards are a statewide hallmark showcasing the best in historic preservation. This year’s awards ceremony will be held on October 21, as part of the Foundation’s month-long celebration of history and design. Craig Hodgetts and Ming Fung will share insights into the Robert Frost Auditorium rehabilitation effort during “Conservation Approaches to Historic Buildings,” on October 13 from 12pm – 1pm (online).
