Since its opening in 1922, the @HollywoodBowl has been the premier destination for live music in Southern California, hosting everyone from Billie Holiday to The Beatles to Yo-Yo Ma under the iconic silhouette of its concentric-arched band shell. Our Los Angeles studio, Mithun | Hodgetts + Fung completed master planning and redesign of the landmark performing arts center and amphitheater with Gruen Associates, executive architect. The new band shell re-invents the acoustics, enhances the functionality and nearly doubles the size of the eighty-year-old icon it replaced, while echoing the memory and visual identity of the beloved original.
