The structure of @thebushschool Upper School building features sustainably harvested mass timber components to drive down embodied energy and global warming potential of the project. This wood frame design also contributes to the project’s #PassiveHouse (PHIUS) certification goals, and creates dynamic new campus spaces for learning and gathering. These innovative large format 2” thick mass plywood panels flew in rapidly, fit like a glove and helped save weeks off of the project schedule compared to traditional car decking installation.

The design of Miraval invites guests to bring their lives into balance by living mindfully and engaging with the natural world. Rammed earth walls, deep overhangs and water conservation strategies reflect a whole-building approach to sustainability and honor the natural landscape. Sweeping views to the south and east connect the Catalina Mountains to Miraval’s campus and establish its character as a place for contemplation and healing. Happy #PrideMonth! Join us in celebrating our LGBTQIA+ communities, and standing in solidarity with our colleagues, friends and partners against discrimination and for justice all year long.
Pride Month commemorates the anniversary of the June 1969 Stonewall Uprising, which sparked the modern LGBTQIA+ movement. Led by Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, two transgender women of color, Stonewall sparked a revolution that has paved a way toward equity for all LGBTQIA+ folks. For information about 2021 events and ways to get involved, check out lapride.org, sfpride.org and seattlepride.org, or your local community organizations.
