Cultivating Talent

This interior renovation advances the initiative to recruit more women in technology. An innovative mix of training, gathering and work spaces support diverse program needs, including the company’s six-month training program for women in technology, immersive training for new hires and daily continuing education programs for existing employees.

Energizing Work and Education

To enhance the success of these training programs, the design incorporates a range of settings tailored for group learning and individual recharge, with carefully tuned lighting, air quality and ergonomics. The building is bisected by diagonal corridors—a wood portal connecting people with active spaces and amenities including the café and lounge, and a secondary spine linking training and work zones with a series of small eddies for quiet work and break-out meetings.

Transforming Space with Color and Light

Throughout the building, graphics, color and daylight assist navigation and energize learning. Multiple skylights introduce natural light within interior spaces.

Amenity corridor connects the café, micro kitchen and work lounge offering a distinctive destination between training sessions.

The work lounge offers a variety of seating options that support eating, working and socializing.

A series of skylights bring natural daylight into the corridor connecting training rooms, offsetting fatigue and increasing focus.

The micro kitchen acts as a place to meet, recharge and work between training sessions. Dramatic lighting transforms the darkest area in the building into an energetic, vibrant gathering zone.

Collaboration zones are located in work areas. Moveable felt screens provide acoustical separation and allow the space to become more private when needed.

Bold graphic murals in breakout lounges assist with wayfinding and serve as a backdrop for work and socializing pre- or post-training.

A screen made of magnifying glasses provides an artful take on queuing in the café. Bold color and versatile furniture elements create a lively space for people to gather.

An outdoor seating area adjacent to the café is a nature-filled refuge for dining, working and team-building.

The design of the café supports efficient service and creates a sensory experience that complements the healthy food offered.
