Mithun Pier 56

Seattle, WA

Revealing the Soul of a Landmark

Mithun’s renovation of Pier 56 reveals and celebrates the soul of this century-old landmark while infusing it with the latest digital and sustainable capabilities. Open spaces respect the fabric of the historic structure and integrate the firm’s activities, catalyzing design dialogue and innovation.

Cultivating Ideas and Wellness

Project teams work in multi-disciplinary groups connected by a central Main Street. A host of flexible conference, collaboration and maker spaces enable hybrid work styles. Rigorous attention to material performance, indoor air quality and expanded amenities—including dedicated parent and wellness rooms featuring employee-made artwork—advance occupant health and comfort.

Embracing Place and Future

The experience is timeless—animated by timber structure, natural light, breezes from Elliott Bay, and views across the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains. Fitwel certified and Living Building Challenge targeted, Pier 56 is a resilient and agile workplace for the future at the heart of Seattle’s rapidly evolving waterfront.
