Activating the Water’s Edge
Shilshole Bay Marina
Seattle, WA
Where Land Meets Sea
Shilshole Bay Marina connects people with the Pacific Northwest recreational waterfront. It is a poetic expression of the Port of Seattle’s practical need for a hard-working office and commercial facility that serves multiple communities and provides welcoming access to public waters.
Inviting Seaside Experience
Adjacent to Golden Gardens Park on the Puget Sound, this elegant structure and site links land and sea, providing places where people from either vantage can enjoy the waterfront. A continuous esplanade and public art enrich the seaside experience.
Flexible, Sustainable Operations
The multi-use public facility provides the Port of Seattle with marina offices, and the Ballard neighborhood with support for a variety of water activities in the unique waters of Shilshole Bay. The sustainable building operates like a sailboat with operable windows maximizing ventilation and daylight.
