Uniting Town and Gown
UCLA Weyburn Commons and Paseo
Los Angeles, CA
A Strategic Site
Weyburn Commons and Paseo is a nine-story graduate student housing and commons complex linking UCLA's southwest campus to downtown Westwood. A grand public paseo passes through the building, uniting town and gown, and realizing the university’s thirty-year-old master plan vision.
Global Student Life
Graduate students from all over the world gain an authentic experience of Southern California life. Appealing outdoor public spaces, abundantly daylit units, inviting gathering areas and walkability seamlessly integrate residents into the campus community and vibrant surrounding neighborhood.
Enriching Community and Campus
It is contemporary, community-focused interpretation of the Southern California Mission Revival tradition adapted to a very large building. The design transforms a surface parking lot into a landmark structure that creates a heart for this housing precinct and ties together a fragmented part of campus.
