PARTNERS
Mithun has promoted Dorothy Faris, Elizabeth MacPherson and Malcolm Harris to Partner. Dorothy Faris is a skilled landscape architect who works closely with integrated design teams and project stakeholders to seamlessly blend site, structure and community. She has contributed to the success of award-winning projects including Heartline and Pepsi Blocks mixed-use developments in Portland, Oregon, University of California San Diego Nuevo West and Nuevo East graduate student housing communities, and Keahuolu Land Planning in Kona, Hawaii.
Elizabeth MacPherson is an interior designer with particular expertise in health and biophilia—the innate, sensory connection people have with the natural world. In her 24 years at Mithun, she has led the design of workplace and residential interiors for diverse projects including Weyerhaeuser Headquarters in Seattle, Heartline mixed use in Portland, and two LEED Platinum student housing developments for UC Irvine, Mesa Court Towers and Middle Earth Towers.
Malcolm Harris has led the architectural design and delivery of numerous high density, multifamily housing projects including 1180 Fourth Street, 626 Mission Bay Boulevard and 1036 Mission Street. He is currently managing Maceo May Apartments, a modular multifamily building for formerly homeless veterans on San Francisco’s Treasure Island. He is a trusted mentor and technical resource for project teams throughout the company.
PRINCIPALS
Mithun has promoted Dakota Keene and Timothy Mollette-Parks to Principal. Dakota Keene is a landscape architect known for crafting thoughtful, sustainable spaces that enrich the human experience and maximize benefit to clients and the greater community. She has led site design for many of Mithun’s signature projects including award-winning cultural landscapes for the National Nordic Museum in Seattle and the Wanapum Heritage Center in Mattawa, Washington, and campus workplaces including the Perot Family Offices and Tulalip Administration Building.
Tim Mollette-Parks is known for designing high-profile landscape projects in complex urban conditions, including the Resilient by Design Bay Area Challenge, UCLA’s Lot 15 Residence Halls and Casa Adelante at 2060 Folsom in San Francisco. Notable projects prior to joining Mithun include the Broad Museum Plaza in Los Angeles and new gardens at the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum in New York City.
ASSOCIATE PRINCIPALS
New Associate Principals are Christian Runge, David Ichikawa, Kristen Belt, Lisa Jacks, Naoe White, Sade Borghei, Tammy Cross and Tina Gega. Christian Runge is a landscape architect passionate about designing at the intersection of nature, culture and human health. He has worked on ecological design and environmental education-driven projects across the country, from the Mariposa Grove Restoration at Yosemite National Park to the new Louisiana Children’s Museum at New Orleans City Park.
Mithun’s information technology (IT) manager, David Ichikawa is responsible for the resiliency of IT equipment and services. He is a calm and positive force in the office, providing innovative capabilities, dependable expertise and abundant support to ensure productivity and connectivity across the firm’s west coast operations.
Architect Kristen Belt brings literacy in state and local housing policy to her work with affordable housing in the Bay Area. Projects like 1180 Fourth Street and Balboa Park Upper Yard in San Francisco, and Gateway Family Housing in Menlo Park, reflect this insight and respond sensitively to their urban context and community priorities.
Lisa Jacks is an architect and project manager who excels at steering education and housing projects with complex stakeholder groups and consultant teams. Her diverse body of work includes master planning and architecture at Hunters View in San Francisco, multiple projects for UC Santa Cruz and revitalization of Jordan Downs in Los Angeles.
Naoe White has been an integral part of Mithun’s leadership team for more than 20 years. As executive assistant, she supports the firm’s board of directors and, through special initiatives and as a liaison to client and professional organizations, contributes to the firm’s identity and external relations.
Sade Borghei is an architect with a passion for applying creative design solutions to positively impact individuals, communities and the greater environment. He brings a wealth of experience to the planning and design of mixed-use and multifamily developments like Balboa Park Upper Yard and hospitality work including a current confidential development on the California coast.
Tammy Cross leads human resources and recruiting across the firm’s three offices. Her tireless commitment to making Mithun an incredible place to work is evident within the firm’s JUST label, diverse wellness initiatives and steady growth over the past decade.
Accounting manager Tina Gega has been an important asset for the Mithun team for more than 20 years. Tina plays a key role in the financial operations of the firm. Her project knowledge and expertise provide teams with a wealth of resources and backbone of support.
