Partners
Mithun has promoted Lana Lisitsa and Lynn McBride to Partner. Lana Lisitsa is an adept project manager with 21 years of experience in education, commercial, hospitality and historic preservation project types. Since joining the firm in 2008, she has provided deft management of complex projects including the new headquarters for Weyerhaeuser at 200 Occidental, renovation of the Paul Thiry-designed 1101 Second Avenue, and Seattle University’s Lemieux Library Renovation and Learning Commons Addition.
In her 21 years with Mithun, Lynn McBride has managed the design of significant projects including the Mesa Nueva, Nuevo West and Nuevo East Student Housing communities at the University of California, San Diego. She is a leader within the firm’s human resources team, championing staffing for firm projects and contributing to recruitment, professional development and continuing education. Lynn also serves as a member of Mithun’s Board of Directors.
Principals
Casey Huang, Dorothy Faris, Elizabeth Gordon and Heidi Oien have been elevated to Principal. Casey Huang has brought a strong contextual approach to the planning and design of affordable and workforce housing, and mission-based projects during her 24 years with Mithun. Notable projects include Hirabayashi Place affordable housing, and Anthem on 12th and Decibel workforce housing in Seattle; Goodwill Job Training and Education Center and Shilshole Bay Marina. Casey also serves on the board of Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority (SCIDpda).
Dorothy Faris is a skilled landscape architect, working closely with the integrated design team and project stakeholders to seamlessly blend site, structure and community. She has contributed to the success of significant projects including University of California San Diego Nuevo West and Nuevo East Student Housing; University of Washington Terry and Maple Halls; the Heartline and Press Blocks mixed-use developments in Portland, Oregon; and Keahuolu Land Planning in Kona, Hawaii.
With a passion for creating innovative design solutions that merge client needs with programmatic requirements, Elizabeth Gordon has led the design of numerous corporate workplaces for confidential Fortune 100 companies in Silicon Valley and the Pacific Northwest. She draws from broad experience with workplace, cultural, hospitality, science, higher education and healthcare to create built environments that enrich human experience, performance and wellness.
With a passion for vibrant cities and a belief that excellent design should benefit all, Heidi Oien has focused her career on the urban realm. During her 20 years of practice as an architect and urban designer, she has led a range of projects that catalyze neighborhoods, including Heartline and Press Blocks mixed-use developments in Portland, Oregon; University of Washington Terry and Maple Halls; and urban design for the Edison-Eastlake Choice Neighborhood in Phoenix.
Associate Principals
New Associate Principals are Benjamin Gist, Erin Jacobs and Nick Wai-Poi. Ben Gist is an accomplished project manager with particular expertise in student housing, urban multifamily housing and mixed use buildings. His recent experience includes the University of California, Irvine Middle Earth Expansion, The Huxley in Seattle, and ARRAS (Spring District Phase 2) in Bellevue, Washington.
Erin Jacobs is a landscape architect and leader within Mithun’s interdisciplinary digital design team driving advanced data-driven design, visualization and research initiatives. She has contributed to innovative workplace, education and cultural projects including Navos Behavioral Healthcare Center for Children, Youth and Families, and campus expansions for The Northwest School and Athenian School.
Nick Wai-Poi brings valuable technical insight to complex university campus projects and large-scale housing communities. His recent experience includes the AIA COTE Top Ten award-winning Chatham University Eden Hall Campus, and multiple student housing communities for UCLA that total more than 4,600 beds.
